AUTUMN EQUINOX: A SACRED PAUSE
Cacao Ceremony • Yin Yoga • Sacred Drum & Gentle Gong
As summer begins to soften into autumn, we arrive at one of the great turning points of the year: the Autumn Equinox, a moment of balance when day and night, light and darkness, meet as equals. It is a threshold — a natural pause before we begin our journey into the quieter, darker half of the year. Join me for a beautiful 2.5-hour afternoon of ceremonial cacao, yin yoga and sacred sound, created as a space to slow down, turn inward and honour this seasonal transition.
We begin by sharing ceremonial cacao, taking time to arrive fully and connect with the heart. Cacao has a long history of ceremonial use and offers us a beautiful way to gather with intention and presence.
At this point in the year, our attention turns towards the harvest — not simply the harvest of the Earth, but our own. What has grown in your life? What has ripened? What are you grateful for? And what are you ready to carry with you into the months ahead?
From here, we'll move into a slow, deeply nourishing yin yoga practice inspired by the energies of the season.
As the natural world begins its movement inward, we'll do the same — allowing the body to soften, the breath to deepen and the pace to slow. Through long-held, supported postures, there will be space to notice what you're holding, what you're ready to release, and what might need tending as we move towards winter.
No previous yoga experience is needed. This is a gentle, spacious practice with plenty of time simply to be.
Our afternoon culminates in a deeply restorative sound journey with sacred drum and gentle gong.
The steady rhythm of the drum invites us back into the body — to heartbeat, Earth and our own inner rhythm — while the softer resonance of the gong creates space for deep rest, reflection and integration.
After the stillness of yin, you'll simply lie back and receive, allowing rhythm and vibration to carry you gently across this seasonal threshold and towards the quieter, more inward months ahead.
Nothing to achieve. Nowhere to go. Just time to rest, listen and receive.
The Equinox reminds us that both light and darkness belong.
For one brief moment, they stand in balance. And then the wheel turns.
Come and meet that moment with me.
